Principal’s Report

As with the end of every school year we take time to reflect on all that we have achieved and celebrate our successes. These are all things that could only have been accomplished with the dedication and commitment of staff, students, parents/carers and our community. Thankyou!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and hope that you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday break with friends and family.

As with any end of year there are people we say goodbye to I would like to farewell the following staff:

Mrs Jenni Redman is transferring to East Ulverstone Primary School in 2018.

Miss Shay Porteus, Mr Dan Langford and Mr Jarrod Minton-Connell have all finished their contracts with West Ulverstone Primary School. We would like to wish them all the very best for 2018.

In our last newsletter we announced class teachers. I can now confirm that next year Ms Mel Coulson will be teaching 3/4A and Mrs Stacey Price will be teaching 1/2A. I would like to welcome Mrs Price to our staff for next year.

I would like to announce that Mr Stephen Dome will be returning to WUPS in 2018. Mr Dome has been working in the Respectful Schools Support Team this year. Welcome back Mr Dome!

Unfortunately our complete staffing list for next year has not been finalised as we are still waiting on confirmation for some positions. I look forward to sharing our staff list with you at the beginning of 2018.

Thank You Morning Tea

Schools are busy places and we often rely on people to volunteer their time to help us out in classrooms, on excursions and around the school. I hope everyone who attended our Thank You Morning Tea last Thursday enjoyed the yummy selection of food that was on offer.

Celebration Assembly

With Christmas now only a few days away, our Celebration Assembly also held last week was a great success. Students in each class enjoyed sharing their Christmas item with a large number of parents and friends.

We place great importance upon student attendance and students upholding our school values (relationships, learning, respect, safety and responsibility). Students from each class with the highest attendance percentage and a student in each class who has maintained our school values throughout the year were recognised at our Celebration Assembly and were presented with a certificate from their class teacher.

It was fantastic to see the winners having between 98% - 100% attendance. This means that these students have only missed 2 to 3 or no days of learning!
